conversationpieces began as a way to have great conversations with the people that I care about most. From the first set of questions, and the amazing conversations that they generated, it was apparent that I was on to something.
Let’s face it, electronic communication is up at home, work and play. The way that we communicate has changed from phone calls, letters and cards to tweets, texts, emails and social media posts. I am no exception, as I check my email while I talk on the phone, text a quick message instead of making a call and post messages on Facebook. It’s amazing, however, to notice how a conversation that takes place with my full attention or note that my daughter finds in her lunchbox can feel so right.
I’m not going to tell you what you should or should not be doing. What I will do, however, is offer a product line of conversation starters that will bring hours of great conversations with the people in your life, along with people who you don’t know quite as well (yet). The sets are easy to use, portable and detachable – leave them in the cover, tear them out as needed and just have fun with them.
I also created a line of kids’ notes to help you stay connected with your children from kindergarten through middle school and beyond. My daughter receives notes in her lunch almost every day. Not only does she love the connection that the brings, but her friends look at them and tell her that they wish they had notes in their lunches, too. The conversationpieces kids’ notes take the “I don’t have time to write notes” out of the equation and let you create the connections that you and your children want while they’re away at school. The kids’ notes are also great in the car, at sleepovers, on trips or just when hanging around.
conversationpieces was launched in May of 2010 at the National Stationery Show in New York and was nominated as one of the Best New Products of the Year. In addition, Creative Child magazine has awarded conversationpieces a 2010 Product of the Year award.
